• I Love Tahoe is a social good campaign that makes it fun and rewarding for people to use their photos to support local cultural, community, and environmental projects.

    I Love Tahoe was created by PixlBank as part of their Destination Preservation Project™.

  • The Destination Preservation Project ™ is a series of campaigns created to activate millions of photos taken each year by visitors and residents in select locations around the world that are being heavily impacted by overtourism.

    Photos will be activated to raise awareness and funds that will be channeled directly to local organizations doing amazing work to preserve the local (Native) culture, support the local communities, and preserve and restore the natural beauty and delicate ecosystems of each location.

  • PixlBank is a social good platform created by a passionate team of designers, developers, and do-gooders who are determined to inspire people to use their social reach for social good by empowering them to invest their social currency in social change.

    PixlBank works with nonprofits, foundations, brands, activists, scientists, and influencers to create campaigns that educate, motivate, and activate people by giving them a way to use their photos to raise awareness and funds to support various causes and social issues around the world.

  • First, you'll need to pick a project on the I Love Tahoe website. We work with some amazing local nonprofits in order to offer you a diverse selection of cultural, community, and environmental projects that you can support.

    Once you've picked a project, you can take a photo or choose one from your camera roll. You can then customize your photo and use it to create a postcard.

    Your postcard is automatically activated and can be easily shared in a text, email, DM, or on social media. And wherever you share your photo, people can simply tap to give it a Boost with a donation that goes directly to support the project.

  • After you share your postcard, you'll receive an email with a link that makes it easy to track how many people have given you a Boost, how much money you have raised for the project, and how many entries you've received for chances to win awesome prizes.

    Also, we'll notify you in an email every time one of your postcards gets a Boost, so you can see the name of your Booster and how much they donated. They can even send you a personal message that only you can see.

  • When you create a postcard to support a project, it is automatically linked to the nonprofit affiliated with the project. That way, when someone Boosts your postcard with a donation, the funds are securely deposited directly into the nonprofit's bank account.

    Depending on the project, the nonprofit may choose to use the funds when they are received, or wait until a specific fundraising goal has been reached.

  • PixlBank deducts a 10% platform fee from each donation before it is deposited into the nonprofit's bank account. Platform fees help to cover server costs and pay people to design, develop, manage, and promote the projects.

    There is also an industry standard rate of 2.9% charged by Stripe for credit and debit card transactions.

  • All donations made by U.S. donors to support a charity - registered 501(c)(3) - through the I Love Tahoe campaign are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

    You will receive a digital donation receipt from PixlBank via email, which you can use for tax purposes. If you have any questions regarding your tax obligations, you should consult with your own tax advisor.

  • Each nonprofit was researched and selected for its forward-thinking methods. Our goal is to provide you with a diverse selection of locally-based nonprofits that have a proven track record of results-oriented projects that consistently generate a measurable impact.

  • If you know of a different local nonprofit doing amazing work, we would love to know about them. Please visit The Projects page and scroll to the bottom where you can submit the name of the nonprofit you think would be a great addition to the I Love Tahoe campaign.

    You can also create your own PixlBank account and turn your photos into funds to support a personal project, or a different cause you are passionate about. You can visit the PixlBank website to learn more.

  • Yes! Each month we will randomly select winners to receive one or more awesome prizes offered by our brand partners.

    To see what you can win, visit The Prizes page. You can also check the "Prize Details" section at the bottom of each project page to see if that specific project has a special prize being offered by a sponsor.

  • You will receive 100 FREE entries to win prizes just for sharing your poscard in a text or on social media.

    You will also receive 10 additional entries for every $1 your raise with your postcard. Basically, every time someone gives your postcard a Boost, you and they both get 10 entries for every $1 they give (donate).

    You can also get entries to win by giving any postcard or photo on the I Love Tahoe website a Boost. You'll get 10 entries for every $1 you give (donate).
